Madame de Pompadour
Porcelain Pompadour, gold and pink porcelain...A French factory was that established in 1740 at Vincennes, which moved to Sevres in 1756, under the complete control of King Louis XV and Madam de Pompadour. Sevres began producing hard-paste porcelain in 1769. A national monopoly was granted to Sevres, which restricted porcelain production in France until the late 18th century when a number of hard-paste porcelain factories and independent decorating studios were established in Paris and elsewhere. Madame De Pompadour, so important woman in Porcelain, inspired us for this pattern, with her famous "rose"( Special Pink).
A charming decor of daisies in a sweeping pattern which is reminiscent of the personal style of the Marquise de Pomapdour ( Jeanne Poisson), the pattern is highlighted with leaves in gold relief.
